The emporia AMPLi40 is an excellent value-for-money telephone for anybody with sight loss. The receiver volume can be increased up to 40dB through a boost button and variable volume control. This will help improve the volume of telephone conversations however this phone does not have a tone control so it is not a recommended choice for someone with hearing loss as without a tone control, the clarity cannot be adjusted. It has a loud ringer volume (up to 85dB) and large visual ring indicator light, to alert you when the phone rings. The receiver is also HAC – Hearing Aid Compatible.
