Message from IDS CEO Peter Regan

Peter Regan, Interim CEO of IDS explains about today’s ISL protest. Senator Martin Conway will put a motion to recognise Irish Sign Language (ISL) on the Irish Constitution to the House of Seanad today at 5pm.

20 members of the ISL Recognition Group will be at Seanad Eireann to watch the debate from 5pm to 6pm. At the same time, there will be hundreds of supporters outside Leinster house from 4pm to 7pm. The support will include those such as Deaf, hard of hearing, hearing, interpreters, service providers, friends, families, relatives, journalist, TV media and the greater public.
