An Irish teenager has developed a new teddy bear to help deaf children learn sign language.
The idea is that a child can press a picture of something like a house or dog on the bear’s body and its moveable fingers will sign the word.
Katie McCarthy’s already had contact with a number of manufacturing companies about the project’s potential.
The 17-year-old, who goes to school in Tralee, has named the bear ‘Deaffie Eddie Freddie’.
